Types of B Pharmacy Courses

For bachelor’s, there are mainly four types of B Pharma courses available to students, namely; Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (lateral entry), Pharmacy (Hons.), and Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda).

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy ( B Pharma) – Students who want to learn about how medicinal medications affect our bodies and pursue a profession in pharmacy. Students need to complete their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as core topics in order to pursue a Bachelor of Pharmacy. The degree lasts four years and students study a variety of trade skills.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy ( B Pharma Lateral Entry) – Students who have completed their Diploma in Pharmacy or D. Pharma and wish to pursue further studies in pharmacy are eligible for lateral entry to B. Pharmacy. The lateral entrance strategy permits a candidate to begin their B. Pharma degree in the second year. As a result, the course will take three years to complete.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy ( B Pharma Hons.) – A Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) is an undergraduate degree offered to people who have finished eight semesters of pharmacy school. B. Pharma (Hons.) provides students with experience in the field of pharmacy. Students are taught a variety of elements, technicalities, and norms related to pharmacy.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharma Ayurveda) – This is an eight-semester four-year undergraduate programme. Students in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) programme learn about many areas of Ayurveda. Students study about healthy living, wellness, and well-being in addition to healthcare. Ayurveda is often known as “life science.” The B Pharma course teaches students how to use lifestyle modifications and natural therapies to prevent and treat illnesses.

B Pharma Course Specialisations

There are several B Pharma specialisations that a student can opt for in the field of Pharmacy. Therefore, check out the B Pharma course specialisation after 12th list mentioned below for reference:

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry: In pharmaceutical chemistry, students are taught about the different aspects of drug design, testing, and development. This course specialisation also trains in the process of treatment and/or drug safety. Students also learn about biology, engineering, and technology principles that can be applied to the development of new procedures and processes.
  • Pharmaceutics: It studies areas related to pharmacies, such as biomedical analyses, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and pharmacodynamics, and is referred to as pharmaceutics. The course also deals with the development, design, distribution, and use of medications for disease prevention and relief.
  • Pharmacology: It studies pharmacological reactions based on biological principles. It supplements the investigation of medications’ biological effects, chemical properties, and therapeutic applications.
  • Ayurveda: Students in this B Pharma specialisation learn about the pharmaceuticals and therapies used in the Ayurvedic system.
